The Challenge:
Our client's General Auditor, an 18 year veteran of the company including six years in the Internal Audit organization, left the organization which created a gap in the company’s vital role of engaging with its Audit Committee.
The company’s Audit Committee requested that management immediately identify an individual with such prior experience who could serve as a “bridge” to the next General Auditor (who had been identified internally within the organization) and who would be assuming the General Auditor role.
The Solution:
Eliassen Group assigned one of its experienced Principals within Eliassen’s SOX and Internal Audit practice with requisite experience with Audit Committee briefings and who had served as an organization’s Chief Audit Executive to serve as the Interim General Auditor for the gap period as the new General Auditor moved into the role. The Principal met with various members of senior management (CFO, CAO) and the Audit Committee chair to showcase capabilities and prior experience operating in this role. During the Principal’s tenure, he oversaw 30+ internal and consultant internal audit professionals. This provided the needed continuity and trust to ensure a smooth transition.
