The client was selected for the development and implementation of a replacement Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) for a large southern state, but the client did not have the MMIS subject matter experts needed to deliver the project on time and within budget. They also discovered that the existing database structures were unusable, so they also faced the challenge of needing to customize 80% of the structures instead of the projected 10%.

The Result:
Our team of 159 consultants delivered the replacement MMIS on time. These upgrades yielded multiple extension awards in post-production support for the client. The upgrade to system quality and efficiency increased the number of claims paid per year by 31%. The Department of Health and Human Services and the state governor formally recognized the quality of the system delivered, the improved service to the provider community, and the increase in post-production support.
