Collecting and Processing Your Personal Information
The Personal Information that we collect depends on the nature of the relationship we have with you, the data subject. Below are some of the ways we may collect and use Personal Information and our legal or business purposes for doing so.
Employees and Contractors
We collect standard employment-related Personal Information regarding our workforce, for various business purposes such as processing payroll, providing human resources services, administering our business (including managing our employees and contractors, communicating with clients, and providing our services) and to fulfill our legal and reporting obligations. The types of Personal Information we collect about our employees and contractors may include: title; name; address; phone number; email address; professional affiliation; employment and education information; username and answer to a security question or password; government identification; banking and financial information; citizenship; health data; precise geolocation through devices used for work; military or veteran status; and on rare occasions the contents of mail, email or texts. We may also collect employee or contractor information related to: race or ethnicity; sexuality or sexual orientation; health; and military or veteran status for the purposes of complying with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) legal obligations, and for some clients that request DE&I statistics. Occasionally we may collect sensory data from our employees and contractors in order to conduct video interviews.
Applicants and Resumes
You have the option of submitting your resume to Eliassen Group, which may include Personal Information such as your employment, education, and contact information. When you send your resume to Eliassen Group, your resume is entered into the Eliassen Group resume database and will be assigned to an Eliassen Group recruiter who may contact you as relevant employment opportunities arise. A recruiter will always speak to you about an opportunity before submitting your resume and will not submit a resume to a client without your prior consent. Eliassen Group uses its best efforts to grant access to your resume only to such third-party clients for whom you have given your consent. However, Eliassen Group is not responsible or liable if some other third party evades security measures and gains access to the resume database, and, subsequently, your resume. Eliassen Group’s clients, to whom your resume has been sent with your consent, may have retained a copy of your resume in their own files or databases. We are not responsible for the retention, use, or privacy of resumes in such instances.

We collect Personal Information regarding our clients or client-representatives for various business purposes such as providing our products and services, managing client information, managing our employees and contractors, marketing and advertising, and complying with our legal obligations. The Personal Information we collect regarding our clients may include: title; name; address; phone number; email address; and professional affiliation.
Visitors to eliassen.com
In general, Eliassen Group gathers information about users of this site collectively, such as what areas users visit most frequently, the services users access the most, and the links to Eliassen Group’s partners that users most often visit. Eliassen Group only uses such data in the aggregate. This information helps us determine what is most useful and beneficial for our users, and how we can continually improve the services and features provided to the users of our site. We may share this collected information with our partners so that they too may understand how eliassen.com users use this site in order that they may create a better overall experience for you as well. Surveys, Promotions, and Research
In some instances, such as when you register to use this site, or when you sign up to use certain services, enter into a contest or promotion, or complete a survey for internal research, Eliassen Group may ask for Personal Information such as: your name; address; e-mail address; telephone number; skill sets (which may reveal employment or education information); and demographic information (which may reveal your age group or sex). Text Messaging
Some users, including our applicants or those who participate in our surveys, promotions, and research, may choose to receive text messages from us. We will only use your phone number and this text messaging feature to better communicate with you after you have explicitly opted-in to receiving text messages from us. We will cease texting you if you ask us to stop. We will not text your phone number to market or advertise, and no text messaging originator opt-in data or consents will be shared with or sold to any third parties.
How We Use Cookies
We use cookies on this website. Sharing Your Personal Information
We share Personal Information with our clients, service providers, staffing partners, marketing outlets, and government agencies as required by law. We share this information in order to: provide our products and services to clients; match our employees and contractors with professional services, talent solutions, and consulting opportunities; and otherwise administer our business or comply with the law. Protecting Your Personal Information
Eliassen Group takes reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the Personal Information that we collect from unauthorized access or disclosure. Retaining and Deleting Your Personal Information
Eliassen Group does not retain Personal Information for longer than reasonably necessary to fulfill the business purpose(s) for which it was collected, conduct audits, enforce our legal rights, prevent fraud and ensure security, or comply with our legal obligations. Our retention periods for Personal Information vary depending on the nature of our relationship with you, the sensitivity of the Personal Information, and the risks involved with any related processing. Sensitive Personal Information
The categories of Sensitive Personal Information we may collect from you, and that we have collected from consumers in the past 12 months, are listed below along with the purposes for which we collect this information. The contents of your mail, email and text messages where we are not the intended recipient:
- Purposes of processing:On rare occasions we issue laptops or other devices to our employees. Although it is not our practice to monitor the communications made through these devices, we reserve the right to review such communications for legitimate business purposes, including but not limited to: providing our products and services; managing our employees, contractors and applicants (e.g., evaluating performance or investigating misuse); and securing our devices (e.g., preventing hacking or fraud).

We do not collect any sensitive Personal Information revealing your religious or philosophical beliefs; genetic data; union membership; precise geolocation; your biometric information for identification purposes; your account login combined with a password; or your financial account, debit card or credit card number combined with any required security or access code, password, or credentials allowing access to an account. We also do not collect Personal Information of children.
(2) The right to know what Personal Information has been collected, sold or disclosed for a business purpose, and to whom it was sold or disclosed:
You have the right to know what Personal Information we have collected about you in the past 12 months. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable request, we may disclose to you:
- The categories of Personal Information we’ve collected about you
- The categories of sources for the Personal Information we’ve collected about you
- Our business or commercial purpose for collecting and/or selling that Personal Information
- The categories of third parties with whom we’ve shared that Personal Information
- The specific pieces of Personal Information we’ve collected about you
- Note: We do not sell your Personal Information for monetary consideration. If we shared your Personal Information for a business purpose in the past 12 months, we will inform you of all such disclosures, identifying the categories of Personal Information that were disclosed and the categories of each third-party recipient that obtained that information.
Pursuant to state privacy laws, Eliassen Group may deny your request, in whole or in part, including: in order to comply with federal, state or local laws; to comply with federal, state or local regulatory inquiries, investigations, subpoenas, or summonses; or to prevent disclosure of information that we are otherwise legally prohibited from disclosing. In the event that we deny your request, we will inform you of the basis for such denial.
(3) The right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information or limit the use of Sensitive Personal Information:
You have the right to direct companies not to sell your Personal Information. California residents have the right to direct companies not to share your Personal Information for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising. Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Utah and Connecticut have the right to opt out of a business sharing their Personal Information for targeted advertising. Residents of Virginia, Colorado and Connecticut also have the right to opt out of a business processing their Personal Information for profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell your Personal Information for monetary consideration or use it to create profiles of you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Additionally, California residents have the right to request that we limit the use of their Sensitive Personal Information. Utah residents have the right to opt out of a business processing their Sensitive Personal Information. Residents of Virginia, Colorado and Connecticut have the right to not consent, or withdraw consent, to the processing of their Sensitive Personal Information.

(4) The right to have your Personal Information deleted:
You have the right to request that we delete any of your Personal Information that we collected, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we may delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your Personal Information from our records, unless prohibited by law.
(5) The right to correct your Personal Information:
You have the right to request that we correct inaccuracies in the Personal Information that we maintain about you. In responding, we may consider the nature of the Personal Information, the purposes for processing it, and the totality of the circumstances.
(6) The right to data portability:
You have the right to request a copy of the Personal Information that we maintain about you in a commonly used, easily readable format.
(8) The right to nondiscrimination as a result of exercising these rights:
Finally, you have the right to be protected from discrimination by any business as a result of exercising your privacy rights. We will use this information only for the purposes of verifying that your request is authentic.
Once we receive your request, we will respond within 10 business days and inform you if we need any more information in order to verify your request. We will provide the information you requested within 45 days of your request. If we require more than 45 days to respond to your request, we will inform you of the reasons why. For requests from California consumers to opt out of the sale or sharing of their Personal Information for the purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising, or requests to limit the use of sensitive Personal Information, we will respond within 15 days.
We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive or manifestly unfounded.
Exercising privacy rights as the resident's authorized agent:

Your right to appeal our response to your privacy rights requests:
Residents of Virginia, Colorado and Connecticut have the right to appeal our decisions in response to the exercise of your privacy rights requests. To initiate an internal appeal, please contact us at the addresses or phone number listed above or by filling out the form found here. We will respond to your request for an internal appeal within 45 days, but we may take up to 60 additional days for good cause. If you are unhappy with the results of your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general at the information listed below.

Privacy Rights for Residents of the European Economic Area and UK
The ways in which we process your Personal Information may vary based on our relationship with you. Please see the sections of this Privacy Statement titled “Collecting and Processing Your Personal Information” and “Privacy Rights for Residents of California, Colorado, Virginia, Utah or Connecticut” for a description of the ways that we process this information and how long we retain it, based on the types of interactions you have with us.
The legal bases for which we may process Personal Information of residents of the European Economic Area or the UK are listed below:
- The performance of any contractual relationship we have with you
- Where it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations
- Where you have provided your consent to certain types of processing
- Where it is in our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of our partners, affiliates, clients, and service providers (provided these are not overridden by your interests and fundamental rights and freedoms), such as:
- To provide staffing, employment, and consulting services
- To respond to your requests and inquiries

We store Personal Information of residents of the European Economic Area and the UK on our servers in the United States or on servers provided by cloud service providers. Eliassen Group uses administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect Personal Information from unauthorized access or disclosure. However, while we strive to protect your Personal Information and privacy, no data transmission or storage is 100% safe. Eliassen Group does not retain Personal Information for longer than reasonably necessary to fulfill the business purpose(s) for which it was collected, with some exceptions (e.g., for security purposes or complying with our legal obligations).
Your rights:
Residents of the European Economic Area and the UK have the right to receive or reasonably access the Personal Information that we process, request a portable copy of that information, and the ability to review, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of such information. You also have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your Personal Information at any time by using the contact information at the bottom of this section.
All of these rights are subject to certain conditions and exemptions. Although Eliassen Group makes good faith efforts to provide individuals with access to their Personal Information, there may be circumstances in which we are unable to provide access, including but not limited to when it would compromise others’ privacy or other legitimate rights, when the burden or expense of providing access would be disproportionate to the risks to the individual’s privacy, or when the information is commercially proprietary. If Eliassen Group determines that access should be restricted in any particular instance, we will endeavor to provide you with an explanation of why that determination has been made and a contact point for any further inquiries. To protect your privacy, we will take commercially reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access to or making any changes to your Personal Information.

Many of these rights take effect for Colorado and Connecticut residents on July 1, 2023, and for Utah residents on December 31, 2023.
Cross-Border Transfers
Your Personal Information may be stored and processed in any country where we have offices or servers or in which we engage service providers. Your Personal Information may be transferred to countries outside your country of residence, including to the United States, which may have different data protection and data processing laws than those in your country. Our internal policies require all of our offices to comply with this Privacy Statement and ensure a level of protection for Personal Information at least as protective as that mandated by the European Economic Area or the UK.
